OHFH is a gigantic Girl Scout Festival in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts that will include a magical bridging ceremony for all age levels over a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge! Plus an amazing GS party like nothing you have ever seen before!

Sunday, May 6, 2012 - Troops are invited to walk the Golden Gate Bridge on your own between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in San Francisco.

GSNorCal secured the permit allowing Girl Scouts from around the world to walk the bridge on Sunday, May 6.

Please note, there will be no GSNorCal staff presence, nor will there be any organized activities on Sunday, May 6.

Golden Gate Bridging 2012 is open to bridging Girl Scouts of all ages!

This is a family event, so men and male children can come, as well as aunts and uncles and other non-members. Since Girl Scouts is celebrating 100 years, the main event is One Hundred, Fun Hundred. You will not need to register for the San Francisco Bridging as it will be free and open to all. The bridge walking will be on the pedestrian walkway. However, there will not be council staff working at the bridge as all hands will be on deck at the Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

The big event on May  5 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, One Hundred Fun Hundred (OHFH), is a once in a lifetime event expected to draw in 20,000 participants from all over the country. OHFH will feature rock climbing, orienteering, free picture booths, a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge, crafts, sports and so much more, all included in the ticket cost. We will even have free shuttles from Pleasanton BART to the Fairgrounds, so even if you are staying in the city for Bridging across the Golden Gate Bridge, you can hop on BART and visit us in Pleasanton for OHFH.

To find out where to stay go to: http://www.girlscoutsnorcal.org/pages/events/ggb.html. You can start on the Marin or SF side, whichever is more convenient.
